Welcome to a New Day

A message from our pastor

Hello, and thank you for checking out New Day Community Church, a United Methodist Church without walls! I'm Jared Jennette, the pastor of New Day. After graduating from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in 2004, I served in a number of churches, as a pastor to youth then as a pastor of the entire church. I came to Merrillville in July, 2010, to lead a group of people from the former United Methodist church in creating a new church that focuses on being the church in the community.

We are focused on tearing down walls. Walls that divide, like rich and poor, old and young, conservative and liberal, race,... we can go on and on. There are too many walls in our society, and sometimes in our churches. We believe that following in the way of Jesus is about loving God and loving others. New Day Community Church is committed to being a church where no matter who you are, no matter what you've done, we love you no matter what!

So, would you like to join us? We'd love to have you. Committing to be a church without walls is tough, because we're on the move sometimes. Please look over the calendar, and come and join us at any of our weekend gatherings. And please, if you have any questions, email me at revjrizz@yahoo.com

and I'll be happy to reply to you as soon as I can. I hope you experience the love of God today.

Sunday, September 5 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM - The New Day Community Church will gather at the Hidden Lake Park Social Center, the indoor facility, for a Potluck/Game Day. Bring a dish to share, your own table service and beverage, and $1.00 to defray the cost of the facility. (Entrance to the park will be free) Although some games will be provided, you may choose to bring your favorite indoor or outdoor game.

School Supplies - We will be addressing the school supply program differently than originally tplanned. We are adopting Henry P. Fieler Elementary School in Merrillville and providing supplies to those in need. These supplies will then be distributed in September. Please continue to look for sales and purchase items to give to school children in need.
Bring these supplies to our weekly gatherings.
